Cross Works Shortlisted at WAN Awards 2026 for New Tashkent Architectural Guidelines

Cross Works’ Architectural Guidelines for Phase 1 of the New Tashkent Masterplan have been shortlisted in the Innovation category at this year’s World Architecture News Awards.

Prepared for the Directorate of New Tashkent, the comprehensive framework has been developed to guide architects and developers working across the first phase of the project—covering approximately 6,000 hectares. The guidelines are intended to support both immediate design coordination and the longer-term establishment of policy, helping to shape the character, performance, and visual identity of a new city district for generations to come.

The scope of the work reflects the complexity and ambition of the wider New Tashkent development, with the Architectural Guidelines addressing urban form, spatial coherence, materiality, and development standards at scale. As one of the foundational tools informing delivery, the framework plays a critical role in aligning multiple stakeholders across planning, design, and construction phases.

Recognition at the WAN Awards places the project among a global selection of leading initiatives acknowledged for advancing innovation in architecture and urban development.

Winners are set to be announced later this year.
