Cross Works releases Data Communities Manifesto
Cross Works is excited to release our Data Communities Manifesto. As AI begins to reshape society, the infrastructure behind it is naturally reshaping our cities.
Every technological system leaves a spatial footprint and that impact demands scrutiny, discussion, and a more intentional design response. This is the start of a wider conversation about how we balance the needs of people and technology in the built environment.
The question is no longer whether or not digital infrastructure will have an impact on our cities, but whether it will do so by design or by default – our choice as designers should be to create futureproofed infrastructure that is here to stay, rather than allow today's market forces to blight our valuable landscapes and city peripheries. The time for action is now, to critically and constructively think about how best we accommodate data centres in our towns and cities globally.
